“I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.
If we have taken as much pleasure in the death of Bin Laden as he took in taking our nation’s lives, our country has not progressed. If the 9/11 attacks were Al Qaeda’s response to a perceived wrong committed by the US against them, let’s take a second to think about the possible repercussions now that the US is actually responsible for the death of their leader, and on top of that, is in possession of his body, thus making it impossible for them to honor him with all of their religious death traditions.
