I did have a huge rant post about Apple written out but stupidly clicked out of it and never posted it. It was about how my iPod is broken(Yes I've tried everything to fix it.) and Apple wants me to spend 99$ to fix it and for 100$ more I can get a new 4gen one.

Well I think I will still post my main question.

Should I pay the 99$ or get a new iPod for 100$ more? or should I get something completely different?

depends on the model you broke, if it's a decent model then go ahead and fix it, if it's old then replace it.

Well it's the second generation. It doesn't have the camera or anything which is why I was leaning towards replacing it. Which would also mean that I have an iPod shaped paperweight.

well, if it's that old then I would recommend getting a new one, better features more storage space etc..
