Making life easier for the rest of us. help out if you can.

I am putting together a bunch of recipes that are simple basic things but people have either forgotten how to make, think it is too hard to make from scratch or are too lazy to make.

help me put together some more Basics/101's and If I make a cook book ( like I want to). I will give credit where credit is due.

I already have a few things that I have collected.
"lazy-man's bread" - 5 minutes of effort, 2 hours total time for tasty bread
"white bread 101" - a little more effort and time than lazy-man's but taste a lot better
"fluffy white rice" -Chinese restaurant style rice without a rice cooker.
"Super basic cheese" 4 ingredients you probably already have to make milk cheese
"pasta dough - whole egg style pasta dough, because we all love pasta.
"simple pie crust/ dough" who doesn't love pie, sweet and savory recipes
"super simple cookie dough" - like a chocolate chip cookie, without the chips, add your own.
"Vanilla cake 101" - yellow or white variety cake, we all love cake too.
"pizza dough" -sweet, fluffy, chewy pizza dough. could also be bread sticks.
"no bake cookies" - sometimes I just don't want to bake.
"pancake 101" - from scratch.
"Crepe 101" - like really thin pancakes

See below: Lazy-man's bread.

Grape Salad is a pretty easy dessert. Takes about 5min to make (minus the long ass time it takes cream cheese to soften after taking it out of the fridge).

    green and red grapes
    8 oz cream cheese
    8 oz sour cream
    1/2 cup white sugar
    1 tsp vanilla exract
    1/4 c brown sugar
    1/2 c shpped toasted pecan

Mix softened cream cheese, sour cream, white sugar and vanilla, gently stir in grapes.
Put into large bowl and sprinkle brown sugar on top and then pecans.
Refrigerate overnight for flavors to meld and brown sugar to melt.

This is a great old fashion stlye recipe. thank you!

    Bread and Butter Pudding

    Serves : 7

    100g sugar
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    5 slices of any bread
    3 handfuls sultanas
    500ml milk
    2 eggs

    Prep:10min › Cook:30min › Extra time:5min resting › Ready in:45min

Preheat oven to 190 C / Gas mark 5. Lightly grease a baking dish.
Mix together the sugar and cinnamon.
Butter 5 slices of bread, cut in half.
Layer the bread in the dish adding a handful of sultanas and the sugar mix as you go, covering each slice.
Mix the milk and eggs together and whisk.
Pour over the bread and leave to absorb for 10 minutes.
Bake in the oven for 35 to 45 minutes, until the pudding is set and browned.
It looks like you have added too much milk, you haven't. This pudding has lots of sugar-tastes bloody good though!! The drier the bread, the more butter I put on.

If you have any additional ideas. I am expanding the idea to things other then food recipies.
I was thinking today, what would I do if I didn't have laundry soap, what could I use instead in my washer.

So think of something you can make at home that people normally buy.
