Just thinking: General rules for using sarcasm online.

On my previous post i mentioned I was moving soon, not that anyone cares but it sets up my argument.

My fiance was setting some stuff up to sign for the apartment and she text me a question, to which my reply was, "Great! That is perfect."

She had to ask me if I was being sarcastic or serious. I admit I have a sarcastic streak in me pretty much all the time.

I explained that if I was being sarcastic I would have put "..." after my statements.

I feel this should be a thing, if someone is sarcastic online they should use "..." to add the sarcastic effect.

The difference would be as follows:

Serious statement:
Great job bill! that looks great!

Great job bill... looks great...

now tell me you could read those with the same context...
