Have Reuters lost their Credibility?

One picture cropped to remove a knife might be explained as incompetence or a simple mistake.

But now we have two pictures from the “peace activists” that were cropped by someone at Reuters to remove knives in the hands of the activists, as they attempted to take soldiers hostage.

Reuters has published this picture from the activists:
01 - have reuters lost their credibility?

The picture is a cropped version of this photo from the IHH website (IHH is the Islamist group whose members rioted aboard the Mavi Marmara):
02 - have reuters lost their credibility?

What did the Reuters photo editor crop out? A big knife and a big pool of blood.
03 - have reuters lost their credibility?

And it gets worse. I took the photo into Photoshop and increased the exposure to lighten the dark areas, and discovered that they didn’t just crop out the knife and blood — they also cropped out another badly injured Israeli soldier lying on the floor.
04 - have reuters lost their credibility?

A Turkish newpaper has released photos taken by the “peace activists” aboard the Mavi Marmara, showing them attempting to take injured Israeli soldiers hostage.

Here’s one of the pictures; notice the knife held by a “peace activist” in the lower right corner:
5 - have reuters lost their credibility?

And here’s the same photo as released by Reuters earlier today:
6 - have reuters lost their credibility?

That’s a very interesting way to crop the photo. Most people would consider that knife an important part of the context. There was a huge controversy over whether the activists were armed. Cropping out a knife, in a picture showing a soldier who’s apparently been stabbed, seems like a very odd editorial decision.

Unless someone was trying to hide it.

And this would not be the first time that Reuters has been caught altering photos for propaganda purposes.

Sadly, this is not the first time Reuters has been caught [url=http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adnan_Hajj_photographs_controversy]manipulating photos this way.[/u rl]

bro , this is crazy. Its nice to know that so many people try so desperately to cover up the way things went down. Being an American, I am used to having to look to other sources for the truth ,and not just eat the spoon fed lies and bullshit they serve to us. the overwhelming majority of my fellow countrymen believe whatever fox news tells them - I dont believe ANYTHING that is said / printed.... Anyways - stellar post as usual Math + 3

    great post.

i stopped listening to these news companies ever since they started using al jazeera's death figures to report how many civilians/soldiers died in iraq on a given day.

theyve been caught reporting 100 dead after a stray missile hit a tool shed or a tent. and our news companies accept that as valid news just to support their agenda.

they (al jezeera) have been doing this for years against israel to demonize them. so they can anger their jew-hating population. AP, reuters, etc deliver their news to the vendors (fox, nbc, cnn, etc). and yes, fox = liberal media because the stories are twisted before they even get to the news vendor (dont believe me? look into when al gore admitted to making extreme amounts of wealth from the global warming scare, fox news didnt report it, nobody did.). they have been doing this stuff for years and years. and nobody will do anything about it, especially now since AP, reuters' bias supports the popular opinion.

all because now our (and israel's) greatest enemy supports their agenda.

thats as if our news companies during WW2 hated jews, so they started reporting on every crime, corruption, etc commited by a jew, just to demonize them. to help gain home support of hitler.

    why isn't this an outrage??
